Tusk v1.4.0 Release Notes
This release brings NAS support, smarter drive handling, and a handful of reliability fixes to make your backup workflow smoother and more resilient.
---
✨ Features
NAS import support — You can now import video libraries stored on network-attached storage (NAS) devices directly into Tusk.
Backup replication — Tusk can now replicate backups across multiple destinations, giving your footage an extra layer of protection.
Folder view file paging — Large folders load smoothly with paged file browsing, so navigating big libraries no longer slows you down.
Local folder restore gate — Added a safeguard to prevent accidental restores to unintended local folders.
---
🐛 Fixes
Update restart — Fixed an issue on macOS where restarting after an app update could fail silently. Tusk now also clearly lets you know if an update installation was cancelled.
Drive disconnect handling — Resolved a bug where background jobs could stall when a drive was disconnected unexpectedly.
Import scan re-attach — Fixed an issue where an in-progress drive import scan could lose its place after being interrupted.
---
🔧 Improvements
Persistent drive scanning — Drive scans now survive in-app navigation. If you switch screens mid-scan, Tusk picks up right where it left off.
File-watcher reliability — Improved handling of file rename events so Tusk correctly tracks moved or renamed video files.
Stabler drive imports — End-to-end reliability improvements for drive import and restore flows, including the restore-then-add-backup sequence.
